Trip in Creta

End of September but Creta is still full of tourists ... most of them Germans and Scandinavians ...
The weather was sunny and the beaches full of people swimming ... I made the trip from Athens to Heraklion, then Rethymnon and ending to Chania ... Last evening I stayed at a nice hotel (Cretan Dream) just at the western outskirts of Chania ... a Cretan night with local Cretan delicacies and Greek popular music was excellent for foreign inhabitants of the hotel but rather noisy for myself :) ... Anyway it was a relaxed evening and I managed to end the reading of a book (Zbigniew Breszinskiy: The Choice - Global Domination or Global Leadership - among us I preferred his other book - The Big Chessboard) ...
In my return flight I enjoyed my new iPod ... nice gadget but it could be better ... anyway I was never an Apple fan ...

Hi ! This is my first ever blog posting :) I have spent my Sunday peacefully ... Some satellite tv watching early morning (adventure and thriller movies that I have videotaped last night), some tv with the celebration of Greece national team in basketball going to European finals after a dramatic winning over France (67-66, then going to buy my Sunday newspapers (4 of them, plenty of nice dvds), an hour of jogging, newspapers studying, lunch and after more news studying. Later on watching my soccer team (A.E.K.) playing against Larissa (we won 1-0 with Ukrainian Vengliski's goal) and now here ... The night will be full of basketball as Greece plays against Germany in the European finals and we all in Greece hope for a win (like in soccer in Portugal last year or like Eurovision with Elena Paparizou win in Ukraine with the "My number one"); we all here want to sing for Greece "You are the one, my number one ..." after the match tonight ... OK, it seems much of tv and athletics today but it is a special day and a chance for relaxation ... Tomorrow starts a new demanding week for me in my business duties ... A trip in Creta island is also in the plans for Tuesday and Wednesday ... More postings to follow soon ...

Greece-Germany 78-62 !!!

After the European Soccer Championship in Portugal, where Greece won the golden medal, minutes ago Greece won the European Basketball Championship tonight in Belgrade playing in the finals against Germany (78-62). This was the 2nd golden medal for Greece in European Basketball.
